KUS-121 is a small-molecule inhibitor of the transitional endoplasmic reticulum ATPase (valosin-containing protein [VCP]; p97) capable of preventing VCP-regulated ATP depletion and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in VCP-expressing cells, in this way preventing their degeneration.
